MultiDisc Thermal Processor

The Renneburg Division’s MultiDisc Thermal Processor is a low temperature processing unit that uses an innovative conduction-convection heat transfer method to indirectly dry and/or cool bulk solids. This processor is used for minerals, chemicals, pigments, soils, sludges and fine particle applications. Advantages of indirect processing include a high product to surface area ratio, efficient thermal processing at low temperature, and minimal off gas volumes minimizing pollution control equipment.

Due to innovative design, the cost – effective MultiDisc has the highest heat transfer surface area per unit volume in the industry. The key to the MultiDisc design lies in the construction of the disc and shaft assembly to create a fixed, sealed and self-contained unit. This allows the heat transfer fluids such as water, steam, or hot oil, to be circulated through the hollow assembly, transferring heat or cooling action, while the product to be dried or cooled is exposed to a very large amount of disc surface area within a relatively small container. The design also reduces - surface fouling, pluggage, and horsepower consumption.

The shafts and discs are mounted perpendicular to the flow of material. This allows versatility in the speed of each shaft effecting retention times, as well as the temperature of the heat transfer fluid in each shaft effecting drying or cooling rates.
