H&P Renneburg Division Fluidbed Dryers

Fluid Bed Dryer & Cooler

The Renneburg Fluid Bed Dryers and Coolers are continuous flow processors that treat granular, free-flowing material suspended in a rising flow of gas for highly efficient heat transfer. This energy-efficient fluidbed dryer fluidizing method causes the material being processed to behave like a fluid by surrounding the particles with the drying gases. This intimate fluidbed dryer fluidizing action provides for a very high rate of heat transfer while gently handling the solids. In-bed heat exchange coils can also be used for lower temperature applications.

The Fluid Bed Dryer is used for the processing of minerals, chemicals, plastics, wood products, grain and waste sludges. Particle size ranges from less than 20 microns to over ¾” top sizes can be processed. Capacities from 200 pounds per hour to hundreds of tons per hour have been designed and are in operations throughout the world.

Users of Fluidbed Dryer enjoy lower capital equipment costs and lower operating costs as a result of the system efficiencies. As there are no moving parts inside the fluidbed, the maintenance costs are greatly reduced compared to other dryers.

Our Fluid Bed Dryers come in two types:

Trough-Type Fluid Bed Dryers & Coolers. These Fluidbed dryers are custom designed units employ a first-in/first-out plug flow method of product handling to ensure an average residence time for each product particle. This fluidbed dryers produce precise control of temperature levels and final product moisture. Trough fluidbed dryers are also readily adapted to in-bed indirect heat transfer techniques.

Circular-Type Fluid Bed Dryers. These custom designed fluidbed dryer units have the additional advantage of back-mixing processed material with wet or sticky feeds to achieve uniform flow. Also, circular designed fluidbed dryers with their small footprint can be fitted into compact installations.

H&P Renneburg Fluid Bed Dryers can be refractory-lined for operation at elevated temperatures. They also can be installed in combinations or in pairs of fluidbed dryers to enhance processing efficiency and productivity. Various combinations of designs and process materials can be fully tested in our Pilot Plant Testing Lab. Also available is an optional Renneburg-Mark BP Bedplate design developed by Andre Mark of Lyon, France.
