H&P Renneburg Division Rotary Dryers and Coolers

Rotary Dryer & Cooler

The Renneburg Rotary Dryer, the workhorse of the powder and bulk solids processing industry and an important part of our product line for almost as long as Renneburg and Heyl & Patterson have been in business. The rotary dryer is a continuous dryer configured with a horizontal rotating cylinder slightly inclined to the horizontal. Rotary Dryers excels in its ability to effectively handle a very broad range of materials regardless of their conveying and handling characteristics. Rotary Dryers are the most versatile dryers available and can handle almost any bulk solid material from dusty powder to lumpy almost liquid sludges.

Rotary Dryers are custom designed and sized for each application. Standard designs utilize both direct and indirect heat sources and are available in either parallel flow or counter flow configurations. Parallel flow introduces the wet feed material and the hot drying gases at the same end for high efficient operation. Counter flow dryers expose the driest material to the highest temperature, providing for very low product moistures. Both configurations utilize internal lifting and showering flights to bring the material being dried into contact with the drying gases. Rotary Coolers are almost always counter flow type. We provide single and double pass rotary dryers and coolers.

The determination of indirect versus direct heat drying processes, as well as the capacities for both Rotary Dryer and Rotary Cooler, are contingent upon the properties of the material to be processed, and the desired product. The suitability of a material to a particular rotary dryer design can be fully tested in H&P’s Pilot Plant Testing Lab. Whether your process requires the rotary drying of fine dusty powders, lumpy solids, sticky sludges or even a mixture of all of the above, there is a rotary dryer that will accomplish the task successfully.
