MultiDisc Thermal Processor
Heyl & Patterson’s Renneburg MultiDisc Thermal Processor is a low temperature processing unit that uses an innovative conduction-convection heat transfer method to indirectly dry and/or cool bulk solids, including minerals, chemicals, pigments, soils and sludges. Indirect processing offers significant advantages, such as a higher product to surface area ratio, efficient thermal processing at low temperatures and minimal of gas volumes that minimize the need for pollution control equipment. The MultiDisc’s innovative design further reduces surface fouling, pluggage and horsepower consumption, effectively reducing your overall operational costs.
Heyl & Patterson designs both rotary and fluid bed agglomerator granulators to process powder and bulk hard-to-handle products into spherical pellets. Our rotary drum granulator utilizes the rotational element of a horizontal drum mounted at a slight incline to create agglomerates. Custom-designed rotary drums can provide short or long retention times, reaction processes, and controlled particle size through rotation speed and inclination. Fluid bed units typically combine drying with particle agglomeration or granulation by spraying the wet feed material onto a bed of seed material. The fluidizing action then provides the means for efficient and thorough processing.
The Heyl & Patterson Renneburg Screw Press removes excess moisture by mechanical pressing through utilization of a multi-stage design, including a full-length screw with flights of decreasing pitch arrayed on cones of increasing diameter. As the product moves through the continuous screw press, the decrease in pitch and increase in cone diameter exerts greater pressure on the material being processed. If your material can be squeezed free of liquid by hand, or if you can remove surplus moisture without difficulty and retain the solids in your hand, then our multi-stage screw press will work as dewatering equipment and do an excellent job of mechanically removing the excess moisture.
Chain Flail Mills
The Heyl & Patterson chain mill or flail mill is a heavy duty double roll size reduction devise, with opposing rotating rotors, and is capable of handling large volumes of material with no plugging. Used in many industries, including the Municipal Solid Waste Recycling industry and Fertilizer industry to reduce large flows of material, it uses rotors that are equipped with different length chains and hardened steel hammers. Housings can be also lined with rubber or removable wear resistant plates.
Pug Mill Mixers
Heyl & Patterson's pug mill mixer continuously mixes large volumes of material, such as powders, slurries and pastes. The pug mill recovers valuable elements such as lead, iron and copper and returns them to your process stream. Mixing intensity, retention time and product appearance can be controlled by changing the agitator speed.
